Mas Yoga

HELLO

Introduction to the practice

I have been a dedicated practitioner of Yoga since December 1999 and have been sharing this passion with others since 2005. Our Yoga community is currently connecting in person and via zoom, all are invited into the safe & welcoming community.
We all start our yoga journey at different times in our lives, with different needs, skills, capacity and experience, the practices are adapted to safely enhance your physical, emotional and spiritual unfolding. The practices that we flow with for the state of yoga to be revealed will include – Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (breathing practices), Nada yoga (sound practices), Mantra, Meditation, self inquiry, restorative practice and deep relaxation. My own practice includes all of the afore mentioned elements along with study of the philosophy of yoga & ancient texts, the revelations and insights from the practice in all its forms are shared within the classes .

Development & unfolding of the practice

The sharing of the practice will include ongoing and sensitive observation and support. The classes are accessible to all abilities, intelligent modifications and adaptations are given if needed, drawing on the many years of experience I have as a yoga practitioner and body worker. You will be held in a relaxed safe space for you to meet yourself and each other in all your aspects with a fresh inquiry, allowing us the space to feel the inter-connectedness of our true nature.

Over time a regular yoga practice will help you build an inner resilience to meet and flow with the twists and turns that life brings, allowing a new sense of vitality to emerge in your daily life.

The body will become more vibrant and alive, allowing old aches, pains and old injuries to gradually be eased. You will start to intuitively sense what the body & spirits needs are as you re-connect with your inner wisdom, allowing you to move through different stages in your life with integrity, intelligently & compassionately adapting the practice to suit.

The more your attention turns inwards you will start to tune into your innate understanding of the body – mind – spirit union, increasing your sense of clarity, a deep sense of contentment will be the ground from where life will flow.

Through the practice of self inquiry you will refine your quality of piercing discernment. From clear seeing you will start to experience freedom from mind created suffering, gradually cutting through & becoming free from limiting patterns of behaviour, allowing your innate wisdom & wholeness to be revealed. As the wholeness that you are you will recognise with astonishment and awe the incredible mystery of the magical unfolding of life.

Michele Lambert - ERYT 1500 Senior Level 6 - Yoga Alliance

My love of yoga began in December 1999 but the question of “who am I?” was calling me from childhood. After becoming a Mother to my daughter Chloe in 1994 I was already looking at ways to find a more balanced and settled space within. Sophie was my first yoga teacher and to support what I was learning in the classes I started a home practice straight away, a deep inner knowing recognised that the practice was essential for me. I began integrating Yoga into my home practice of Chi Kung, feeling the stabilising, balancing effects it was having through body & mind encouraged me to fully embrace the practice. Sophie stopped teaching after a few months of me attending her classes but I carried on with my home practice, listening to my inner teacher. Yoga has allowed there to be an embodiment of the qualities of strength, stability and resilience starting with the physical, flowing to the emotional, realising the spiritual, to be able to meet the joys and challenges that life & parenthood bring. Chloe along with her husband Lewis and my two Grandsons Eric & Macsen, continue to be some of my most beautiful and powerful teachers!

I am continually flowing within the practice, sometimes the path is smooth and other times it's challenging.

I started attending classes with Gail Needham in 2001 and later with her partner Alan Davies. It was through the encouragement and gentle nudges of Gail & Alan that I embarked on the journey towards becoming a Yoga Teacher. I had no intention of becoming a yoga teacher when I started the practice but the wisdom of Yoga had other ideas! I completed a British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course with Ann Lewis and then went on to complete the BWY Teacher training course led by Richard Adamo, I completed the course in December 2007.
I am continually flowing within the practice, sometimes the path is smooth and other times it’s challenging. I have been guided by many great teachers in person and through the multitude of books I have read over the years. I have been inspired by Sama Fabian & Tanya Syed of Aurolab Yoga since the start of 2014. Whilst staying in India at Auroville, on a Yoga intensive held by Sama & Tanya we visited Tiruvanamali and Ramana Maharshi’s ashram before climbing Arunachala. This was the start of a deeper love and inquiry of the non-dual pointers. The teachings of Ramana & the clear, direct pointers of Mooji spoke straight to the depths of my being. Over the years that have passed so many changes have happened, each time there has been a big revelation there has followed a time of releasing and then integration/embodiment of what has been revealed through everyday life experiences.
The merging of the many rich and diverse elements of the practice of this incredible dance of wisdom invites the wholeness of what we are to be discovered and embodied, so our lives can be lived to their fullest expression. I give thanks to all the Teachers/Guides that have shared their wisdom from their own unique expression of consciousness, I am grateful to all. I am grateful for the call of the inner yearning for the realisation of the true nature, the hours spent in practice & inquiry and the spontaneous grace of the unfolding of consciousness as a result of the Divine Dance of ‘What is’. I am grateful for our incredible yoga family.
